Adia Barnes

Adia Barnes has been serving as the head coach of the University of Arizona Wildcats women’s basketball since April 2016. As a player, she played for seven seasons in the Women’s National Basketball Association with four different teams. In 2003, she was inducted into the University of Arizona Hall of Fame.

Originally from San Diego, California, Adia Barnes was born on February 3, 1977, under the star sign Aquarius. The 47-year-old basketball coach is American by nationality and belongs to Caucasian ethnicity. She attended Mission Bay Senior High School and later earned a scholarship to study at the University of Arizona.

Married to Husband, Salvo Coppa

The Wildcats’ coach is a happily married woman. Her husband, Salvo Coppa, is also a basketball coach by profession. Together, the couple has welcomed two children – son Matteo, and daughter Capri. Their youngest daughter, Capri (b. 15 September 2020), is only six months old.

Adia first met her future husband in Italy. After dating for a few years, she tied the knot with Salvo on 04 July 2012. Since then, they have been supporting each other and living happily with their two kids.

Adia is the daughter of former NFL player Pete Barnes. Her parents divorced when she was only three years old. Sadly, her father passed away on May 3, 2018, from Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 72.
