In 2018, he took charge of the Italian national team. His contract with the Italian national team has been extended until June 2026. As a manager, he holds a number of records, including the most consecutive Coppa Italia finals from 2004 to 2008.

Mancini is one of the top football managers and the highest-paid manager in Serie A. In 2011, he was estimated to have a personal wealth of $26 million.
