Thomas Tuchel is a German professional football manager who is the current head coach of Premier League club, Chelsea. He replaced the club legend, Frank Lampard, and became the first German to manage Chelsea. He has often been nicknamed “The Professor” in his long-running managerial career.
Originally from Krumbach, West Germany, Thomas Tuchel was born on 29 August 1973 under the star sign Virgo. As a player, Tuchel first played for a local club, TSV Krumbach, from 1979 to 1988. He joined FC Augsburg in 1988 but never made it to the first team and was released in 1992. The German tactician began his coaching career in 2000, working for the youth teams at VfB Stuttgart for five years. Tuchel joined the English club Chelsea in January 2021, signing an 18-month contract with the option for an extra year. He is the first German to be appointed as head coach of Chelsea. He won the Champions League in his debut season at the London club.
Tuchel is one of the top managers in football. In the 2019-20 season, he was the highest-paid coach of the French Ligue 1, earning more than 600,000 euros a month. His £7 million salary increased to £10 million after his contract extension with Chelsea in June 2021. As of now, he has a whopping net worth of £22 million.
