Married, Wife, and Children
Billy was previously married to Nicky. The pair share two daughters, Lucy and Ruby, and two sons, Oscar and Max. However, Billy announced separation from his wife in 2015 after 18 years of marriage. Regardless, he did not share the reason for their separation at the time.

In 2016, Billy announced that one of his colleagues, Garry Lyon, was on indefinite leave from The Footy Show as he battled depression. A month later, Billy spoke about the betrayal during an interview as Garry had been dating his ex-wife. Billy opened about his situation during one of his TV appearances.
“We’d separated, which you know, surprised a few. She left me, really. She just fell out of love, which happens. Eighteen years (we were married). And I didn’t expect it.”
“You think she’ll come back and all that, but she didn’t. So that was a real kick in the guts.”
“But then, you know about a year later, she’s um, shacked up with one of my good mates. And he’s in the media, too.”
However, the bad blood between Billy and Garry seems to have ended as they spent the 2020 Christmas together with Nicky and their four children. Billy also shared that the three were in a “good spot”.
‘There’s no problems, we’re in a good space, he’s in a good space, Nicky is, the kids are and so am I. But that has taken time. It has,’ Billy shared.

Billy was born to his father, Anthony “Tony” Brownless. His father passed away at age 82 in 2020. He paid tribute to his father on Instagram with a social media post with a hashtag, “Having a beer for dad”. He has not shared much about his mother.
