Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is back for its second season, and there’s plenty of drama for the viewers. With Jen Shah’s charges on running a nationwide telemarketing scheme and allegations of Mary Crosby being in a cult, the show has also announced the addition of the first Vietnamese cast member, Jennie Nguyen. Former businesswoman and mother of three children, fans had a sneak peek of Jennie in the trailer for the new season. Jennie is surely not the one to be messed with as she can be seen telling her cast member to shut up.
Jennie Nguyen was born in Vietnam and migrated to the United States when she was seven years old. She was born in 1976 and is 45 years old, but her official age is lowered by two years. She holds American nationality and comes from an Asian ethnicity.
Net Worth, Salary, and Income
Jennie is the newest member of the reality show Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Her longtime friend Lisa Barlow introduced herself to the show, whom she met when their kids attended the same elementary school. She made her debut in season 2 of the show and is the first Vietnamese housewife in the show’s history.
Before appearing on the reality show, Jennie was a successful businesswoman. She owned several medical spas but sold them to become a stay-at-home mom for three. Likewise, she also has a YouTube channel, “JennieNguyenLuv,” where she shares her recipes. Jennie is clearly a foodie as most of her Instagram posts are about amazing-looking foods. As of 2021, Jennie’s net worth is still under review.
Married, Husband, and Children
Jennie is married to her husband, Dr. Duy Tran, a chiropractor. Her husband founded his own Murray, Utah practice, HealthQuest Chiropractic, in 1992. The pair was introduced by Jennie’s now sister-in-law.
“I was open-minded and went on a blind date with him. We hit it off and he asked me to visit him [in Salt Lake City] and then I stayed ever since. It’s been over 22 years. We dated for seven and a half years before I said yes. I took my lovely time.”
Jennie and her husband share three children. Their eldest son is Atlas, who is friends with Lisa’s son, Jack. Likewise, her youngest son is named Triton, while her youngest child, a 9-year-old daughter named Karlyn, has already published a children’s book, The Mysterious Forest. During a scene from the trailer, Jennie’s husband expressed that he wanted to expand the family. However, Jennie made it clear that she had no interest in doing so. Her husband jokingly suggested finding a sister wife which “pissed” Jennie off, after which she walked away.
Family, Parents, and Siblings
Jennie was born to her Vietnamese immigrant parents. She and her family escaped the country by boat when Jennie was 7 years old. Although she has not disclosed her parent’s names, she has shared her story.
“During our journey, we were captured by the Thai pirates, and we were placed in a Thai refugee camp,”
“About three years into the camp, we were sponsored by a Christian church and that’s how we ended up in Long Beach, California. And so that’s how we came to America.”
